The Way To Read This

Until I get around to making a significant site overhaul -- which will include me picking up this story again -- probably the best way to read through this is to use the table of contents. It stays in the sidebar the whole time. Read a section (maybe start with the Introduction), then click to the next.

Alternatively, I've compiled the entire piece, as best as I can, one a single page, here, albeit with a few formatting issues now and then.

A Few Notes

The bulk of this story takes place in the spring and summer of 1990, and has been written in bits and pieces starting as far back as 1993, when I'd been in remission for three years. Be forewarned that there's more than a little profanity. Some of this stuff still makes me very angry. I may try to work on a "PG" version at some point, but for now I'll let the chips fall where they may.

One final note: this is as mostly true a story as more than a decade of hindsight will allow. I can't say that everything is 100% accurate, but it's as close as I can get.
